Islamabad: The five mobile phone operators, providing services in the country, have issued instructions to check status of re-verification of SIMs to facilitate their subscribers.
As per National Action Plan (NAP), all mobile phone users are required to re-verify their SIMs through biometric verification system as all un-verified SIMs will get blocked after April 13, 2015.
In order to know if SIM is verified or not, one should follow procedure and check how many SIMs are issued on his/her Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and to know this, one should send CNIC number (without dashes) to 668. This service is free.
One can also visit a website: http://cnic.sims.pk/ and enter CNIC and press submit to know number of SIMs registered on his/her CNIC. When anyone has a count of SIMs registered on CNIC, one should go ahead to confirm if each number registered against CNIC is registered or not.
If someone wants to check whether Telenor’s SIM is verified or not, one can send CNIC (without dashes) to 7751 (free).
A message from Telenor will confirm if SIM is verified or not. One can also send CNIC in an SMS from all of Telenor numbers to 7751 to check verification status of all Telenor SIMs.
Similarly, to check if Mobilink’s SIM is verified or not, a person can send his/her CNIC (without dashes) to 6001 (free).
A message from Mobilink will confirm if SIM is verified or not. One can send CNIC in an SMS from all of his/her Mobilink numbers to 6001 to check verification status of all Mobilink SIMs.
If a subscriber wants to check Warid SIM is verified or not, he/she can send CNIC (without dashes) to 789 (free). A message from Warid will confirm if SIM is verified or not. One can also send CNIC in an SMS from all of his/her Warid numbers to 6001 to check verification status of all Warid SIMs.
Moreover, to check if Ufone’s SIM is verified or not, one can dial *336*1# (free). Dial this number from your Ufone SIM to know the verification status of Ufone SIM.
In order to check if Zong SIM is verified or not, one can dial *6622#. One can dial this number from his/her Zong SIM to know verification status of Zong SIM.
If your SIM is un-verified, then go to service centre, franchise or retailer of respective operator to get it verified.
