Rawalpindi: The closing ceremony of a five-day Indigenous on Campus Training was held at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Friday. The event was organised by the university in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Resource persons of the workshop were Junaid Zaidi, advisor, Faculty Development Academy, Comsats Institute of Information Technology, Ghulam Mujtaba Kiyani, treasurer of FJWU and Dr. Mubashar Nadeem, director, Directorate of Research, University of Education. The workshop was focused on Office Procedures, Professionalism, Communication Skills, Team Building and Office Bonding with the purpose to achieve goals. Almost 30 participants from various offices have attended this workshop.
Mr. Junaid apprised the objective of this workshop is to train the nonteaching staff to make them more effective, result oriented and capable of dealing with public affairs. He gave detailed lecture on noting and drafting and the ways by which you can improve your writing skills. He said that one must know the format and language of official communication.
Dr. Nadeem put rigorous focus on self-development and said that self-knowledge is the starting point on the journey of self-development. He said that every organisation has its own etiquettes which must be followed by its employees. He has given various tasks and assignments to highlight the importance of working in a team. Expressing the views about the workshop participants said that sessions were designed systematically and illuminating. It will help us to improved personal capacities and potentials to be best while doing anything. Such workshop should be conducted on regular basis for professional growth and development.
