NAB probing over 500 corruption cases in Sindh
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Sindh was probing more than 500 cases of corruption that include about 256 under process inquires, 133 under process investigations and 326 references under trial against the top politicians, provincial ministers, officials and member of National Assembly as well as members of the Sindh Provincial Assembly. NAB was working in all provinces across the board as more than 500 complaint verifications, inquiries, investigations and references are in process against the top politicians, Provincial ministers and officials in Sindh.
Last month, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah appeared before NAB in an investigation; complaint verification is under process against Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani for assets beyond known source of income and alleged appointments in Sindh Assembly; trial is under process against Dr Asim, former Minister for Petroleum; trial is also under process against Sherjeel Memon, former Minister for Information; under process inquiry against Secretary Health, Fazal Pecheheo; trial is under process against Secretary Information Zulfiqar Shalwani; trial is also under process against former Chief Secretary Siddiq Memon; investigation is under process against Manzoor Qadir, former DG, Sindh Building Control Authority; trial is under process against Shahzar Shahmoon former Secretary Land Utilisation.
Former Mayor, Karachi, Mustafa Kamal appeared in NAB in a Land Allotment case; Inquiry under process against Zia Lanjar, Minister for Law, Sindh; complaint verification against Pir Pagha Pir Sibghaullah Shah Rashdi, complaint verification under process against K-Electric; inquiry is under process against former German CEO of PIA; trial under process against Moeen Aftab, former Chairman of Pakistan Steel Mills.
The inquiry was in process against Nisar Morai, former MD Fisheries, Sindh and Iqbal Z Abmad, snd CV against Nawab Wasan, MNA; investigation against Azeem Iqbal Siddiqi, former MD, SSGCL; Nasir Abbas, former MD, SBCA; Nazir Somoro VC Sindh University, former Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Ashraf Wathra, Qazi Mustafa Jamal, Former Commissioner Karachi, Imranul Haq; former MD, PSO, Yasir Afandi, Shell Pakistan, Sharmila Farooqi, former Adviser and Gohar Ullah, Director Fateh Textile Mills, Irfan Puri, Irfan Puri Industries.
Complaint verification is in process against Rauf Siddiqi, former Minister Sindh; Safe City Project, Karachi, Ali Raza, former President National Bank, Agha Masood Abbas, MD, Sindh Building Control Authority; Ahmad Humayun Sheikh, CEO Azgard Nine.
Reference under process against former IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, Khalid Chadda, CEO, PIDC; Inquiry against Sian Rakhio Merani, former DIG Larkana; inquiry against Abdul Sattar Dero, MD, Port Qasim Authority; investigation against former FBR Chairman Ali Arshad Hakeem, Abdullah Yousuf and Salman Siddique and Ayaz khan Niazi, former NICL Chairman.
