LAHORE
The returning officer of Supreme Court Bar Association’s election has linked the finality of a notification for returned candidate on the seat of secretary until decision of a petition that challenged the result.Asad Manzoor Butt had notched the secretary’s slot by defeating Aftab Ahmad Bajwa with a close of margin of six votes during the last week election for year-20015-16.
Advocate Aftab Bajwa challenged the result before the RO Sardar Afrasiab Khattak and alleged that many valid votes cast in his favour were unjustly rejected by the polling staff. He requested the RO to order recounting of the votes and bar the respondent secretary from functioning until decision of the matter.
The RO issued notices to the respondent parties for November 10 and said the finality of the secretary’s returned candidate notification would be subjected to the decision of the case.
