The Institute for Advancement of Dental Sciences and Research (IADSR), in collaboration with University of Health Sciences (UHS), is organising a three-day international conference on evidence-based dentistry which will start from today (Friday).
According to a press release issued here Thursday, the theme of the conference is “Choosing the best treatment for your patient”. The international partner for the conference is the Centre for Evidence-Based Dentistry (CEBD), University of Dundee, UK. The conference is endorsed by the AMEE (Association for Medical Education in Europe). The foreign speakers of the conference include Director of CEBD, UK, Dr. Derek Richards, Prof. Amjad Wyne from King Saud University Riyadh and Prof. Khalid Almas from University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In addition, over 20 nationally renowned specialists from all over the country will also present their papers. On this occasion, five prestigious memorial awards in the names of pioneering dentists of the country will be given to the winners in the clinical cases of Prosthodontics, OMFS, Orthodontics, Operative Dentistry and Comprehensive Dental Care. The conference will have two dedicated sessions on clinical application of best evidence for the optimal treatment outcomes. Besides, there will be a workshop facilitated by Dr Derek Richards to impart skills for finding the right evidence for the dental professionals. The conference will have an interactive format with table discussions at the end of each session to encourage participation and lively conversation between the participants and the conference presenters. It also includes competitions for aspiring dental students and postgraduate students for the best presentations, table clinics and completed clinical cases.
