ETPB approves budget

The first meeting of the newly elected Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) members was held on Tuesday which approved Rs 2,900 million annual budget of the Board. Besides, board members also approved over Rs 510 million annual development budget for the year 2015-16.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of ETPB Chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq in which members of the Board including Naila Zafar, Col (retd) Mubashar Javed, Cap (retd) Muhammad Younus Durrani, Ms Ayesha Musadiq, Mukesh Kumar Karara, Perzada Aurangzeb Shah, Sardar Munawar Zaman, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and Muhammad Munsaf Jan, participated. Besides Board’s officials, revenue officers of all the provinces also participated in the meeting. The members also approved 25 items presented in the meeting. The ETPB also approved the construction of a Hindu temple in Karachi at a cost of Rs one billion. According to a press release issued on Tuesday, addressing the participants, ETPB Chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq claimed that the Board was facing financial crunch at a time when he took over the charge, but now it had become a profitable institution. He also claimed that the ETPB would become more profitable in days to come. He informed the media that a business development cell had been established in the Board to oversee development projects.
