Iran’s spiritual leader Ali Khamenei has lauded Punjab University Iqbal Chair head Prof Dr Syed Muhammad Akram Ikram on his in-depth research work on Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal during his visit to Iran.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, Prof Dr Ikram had attended a seminar on literature and art which was attended by renowned poets and thinkers from Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Yemen and other countries. The seminar was followed by a grand Mushaira which was presided over by Iran’s Supreme Leader Syed Ali Khamenei. Because of his outstanding work in Iqbaliat, Syed Ali Khamenei recognised Dr Ikram whom he met over 25 years ago and praised the latter’s book titled “Iqbal Dar-e-Rah Maulvi” and termed it a book of high value containing deep meanings.
