A meeting of Punjab University’s Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB) was held on Thursday which approved 19 PhD synopses, 10 evaluation reports and 12 panels of examiners.
The meeting, chaired by Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, also approved one extension case and one miscellaneous case.
Prof Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik, Prof Dr Shahid Kamal, Prof Dr Mobashar Ahmad Butt, Prof Dr Taqi Zahid Butt, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla, Prof Dr Ismat ullah Zahid, Prof Dr Hassan Mobin Alam, Prof Dr Mumtaz Akhtar, Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Prof Dr Ghulam Moeen Uddin Nizami, Prof Dr Javed Iqbal Qazi, Prof Dr Tahira Basharat, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali and Additional Registrar Dr Kamran Abid attended the meeting. Meanwhile, PU has awarded PhD degree to a scholar Mian Azhar Ahmad s/o Mian Zaffar Ahmad in the subject of Anatomy after the approval of his thesis titled “Laparoscopic Study of Anatomy of Hepatobiliary Triangle and its Variations in Pakistani Population”.
Student dies in accident
A 24-year-old man died and his friend received injuries when their car rammed into a footpath near Liberty Roundabout on Thursday.
The deceased identified as Taimour Malik hailed from Mianwali and was the student of engineering university. Taimour and his friend Hassan were on their way home in a car after attending the birthday of one of their friends when their rashly driven car went straight into a footpath. —Correspondent
