LAHORE
Principal Postgraduate Medical Institute Prof Anjum Habib Vohra has said that medical profession is incomplete without nurses.
Nurses are true manifestation of serving humanity and are always busy in their noble mission keeping themselves above all their personal wishes. These are the nurses who practically implement treatment suggested by the doctor. It has become the need of the hour to turn Postgraduate College for Nursing into a university so as to add a new chapter to the history of the medical field in Pakistan. He expressed these views while addressing a function held in the honour of Sajida Farsheed, Chief Nursing Superintendent Services Hospital, according to a press release issued here Sunday. Sajida Farsheed is reaching her superannuation on June, 01. Principal Nursing College Kousar Perveen and other speakers also appreciated the services rendered by Sajida Farsheed during her long career. Anjum Habib Vohra termed her a role model for nurses. He said that all departments of medical science needed specialisation especially nursing as this department was lagging behind in this field. In order to make up this deficiency, converting this nursing college into a university would be a wise decision which will enable nursing students to keep themselves abreast with advancements in the profession and modern research. Principal Nursing College Kousar Perveen said that nurses who completed their specialisation in various medical subjects were the precious asset of the sector. Sajida Farsheed recalled her memories and stressed upon the nurses to pay full attention to improve their education along with discharging their duties. A memorial shield and bouquet was presented to outgoing Sajida Farsheed at the end of the function.
