LAHORE
Dozens of motor vehicle and rickshaw repairing workshops are posing a threat to the students of City District Government Boys High School near Railway Engine Shed.
The locals said the workshops were involved in various dangerous jobs such as repairing gas kits, cylinders, decanting of LPG cylinders and welding. They said the mechanics used to park rickshaws and vehicles adjacent to the boundary walls of the schools and also used to carry out repair work there.
They said the dangerous activities continued even at the time of school closure when hundreds of students were going their homes. They said heavy damage could take place in case of an untoward incident. They appealed the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) to take immediate action and ensure the establishment of a buffer zone between these workshops and school walls to save the children.
