Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said the distribution of laptops among students for the promotion of the latest education is a historic achievement of the government.
She said this while addressing the laptops’ distribution ceremony at King Edward Medical Univeristy on Tuesday. Vice-Chancellor of the college, Faisal Masud, presented an address of welcome. Dr. Mudassar Faisal, Prof. Qazi Saeed, Prof. Samiya Javed, Adnan Ahmed Bhatti besides a large number of students also participated.
Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said the Punjab government had started a number of projects for the promotion of information technology in educational institutions. She said that 212 students of the college had been given laptops on the basis of merit. She stressed the students to utilise all their energies for acquiring the knowledge as it was a key to success. She said that a project had also been started for the provision of free Wi-Fi to educational institutions due to which students would avail internet facility at their homes.
