LAHORE
Two robbers were killed in an alleged police encounter in Defence B police area on Wednesday.
The robbers were identified as Ebad Gull Khan and Awais Rashid Khan and their two accomplices Fawad Khan and Zeeshan Khan injured in the encounter were arrested. Some locals informed 15 Emergency Police about the presence of four suspects travelling in a car in Defence B area. SI Afzal and other policemen reached the spot. To see them, the car riders opened fire. The policemen retaliated and killed two robbers.
MAN KILLS WIFE: A woman was clubbed to death by her husband in Hadyara area. The victim was identified as Yasmeen Bibi, wife of Fiaz, of Hadyara. Police said accused Fiaz exchanged hot words with his wife over a domestic issue and clubbed her to death. Yet in another incident, a 40-year-old man lost his life in a road accident in Shalimar area. The victim identified as Fiaz was admitted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
ACCIDENTS: At least 661 accidents were reported in Rescue 1122 Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which four lives were lost and 557 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district.
Body: A decomposed body of a 45-year-old man was found from a canal in Nawab Town police limits on Wednesday.
Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy. A passerby spotted the body and informed the police. Police reached the spot and fished out the body. ASI Ghulam Mustafa said the police did not find marks of torture on the body.
BOOKED: Family of the man allegedly killed by CIA City Police ended their protest after an FIR was registered against the accused police officials. Sundar Police registered an FIR 244/15 against accused SI Pervaiz and Waqas Butt of CIA City police on the compliant of Naseer Ahmad, father of deceased Liaquat Ali, under section 302 of PPC. No arrest was made in the case.
