LAHORE Waste Management Company (LWMC) has concluded its month-long massive cleanliness awareness campaign in the northern part of Lahore here Thursday.
The campaign launched in mainly 16 Union Councils of Wagah and Aziz Bhatti Town aimed at improving cleanliness and mobilising the local residents on the use of waste containers.
Campaign lasted for the whole month on January and was comprised of cleanup operations, removal of waste from open plots, setting up camps for awareness and on the spot redress of complaints and awareness walks in several localities of both the towns.
On the last day of campaign at Angoori Bagh Scheme Link Road, an awareness walk was carried out which was lead by PML-N leader Khurram Rohail Asghar, Senior Manager Operation LWMC Suhail Anwar Malik, Senior Manager Operations Albayrak Hussain Kartal and Communication Head LWMC Jamil Khawar.
Residents of the towns were sensitised on sanitation and use of bins through briefing and distribution of leaflets. Special cleanliness arrangements were made throughout the month by Albayrak, including mechanical sweeping and washing of roads. A large amount of waste was removed from several open plots during campaign.
