THE Child Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) recovered a 10-year-old girl, a victim of torture and illegal detention, during a raid over a house in Muslim Town.
The victim was identified as Ansar, a resident of Haveli Lakha.
The officials of the CWPB witnessed marks of torture and burns on the body of the minor girl. The father of the girl, Mansha, had borrowed Rs. 26, 000 from the owner of the house named Kaleem.
PRO CWPB told the media that someone informed about the victim on their helpline 1121. They raided the house of Kaleem in Muslim Town and recovered the said girl.
They presented the victim before the Child Protection Court and took her legal custody. He said that the girl told them that Kaleem had brought her from her native town in Haveli Lakha. She was living with them for the last two years. Her father Mansha borrowed Rs.26, 000 from Kaleem. She told the media that she was ill-treated and tortured by different means by the family she was living with. She disclosed that she was burnt with a hot fry-pan. The CWPB informed the family of the victim. The PRO said that they would present the victim before the Child Protection Court for further legal action.
