ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday acquitted an accused of double murder on the basis of reconciliation between the two parties.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa heard a case of double murder through video-link wherein lawyers from Lahore Registry presented their arguments. After hearing to the parties, the court acquitted one Shahzad alias Sajjad, an accused of double murder, after the affected party made reconciliation with the accused. According to the prosecution, the trial court had awarded death sentence to the accused Shahzad alias Sajjad for allegedly killing two ladies including Rimsha Bibi and Kashifa Bibi. The high court later on converted the death sentence of the accused into life imprisonment.
