A 35-year-old labourer was shot dead on the Kareemabad bridge in the Gulberg police limits on Saturday.
Riaz Hussain, a resident of Umer Colony in Manghopir, was going to work at a shop on his motorcycle when gunmen also riding a motorbike fired several shots from a 9mm pistol on him and fled, said Station House Officer (SHO) Zakirullah of the Gulberg Police Station.
Police attended the crime scene and took the injured man to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died. The man suffered bullet wounds to his upper torso. The police officer said the murder seemed a part target killing, but other aspects would also be investigated.
