Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, the chief of the air staff, Pakistan Air Force, has been elected a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAS) in a ceremony held at the PAF Air War College Faisal on Monday.
According the spokesman for the PAF, air marshal (retd) Salim Arshad, president RAS in Pakistan, handed over the certificate of fellowship to Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman.
Addressing the ceremony, air marshal Arshad hoped that the air chief’s personal involvement in the RAS would enhance the standards in all aerospace disciplines in the country.
“The award of fellowship to the air chief is the recognition of his outstanding contribution to the aerospace industry. The award has brought laurels to the country in general and the Pakistan Air Force in particular.”
The air chief said, “In the recent past, the sphere of aviation has seen tremendous developments, and the RAS since its inception in 1866 has come a long way in promotion of the highest professional standards in the field of aviation.”
“In view of the outstanding contributions made by the society towards enhancing standards in all disciplines of aerospace,” he said.
“I am sure our interaction with the society will be fruitful for the Pakistan Air Force as well as the Aviation Industry of Pakistan.”
He further said, “Being a modern air force, the PAF is fully focused on developing its human resource and assets. It has attained a significant measure of self-reliance to meet our operational requirements.”
