The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) on Monday regularised 650 employees who had been working on contract basis at the Dow medical college.
The matter had been in doldrums for a long time. In the light of legislation passed by the Sindh Assembly, the vice chancellor of DUHS, Prof Dr Masood Hameed Khan, had set up a committee comprising nine members to resolve the matter.
The committee issued a notification on Saturday, August 15, for the regularisation of 650 employees at the Dow medical college who had been hired since March 2013 on BPS-1 to BPS-16.
Briefing the regularised employees on the occasion, Prof Masood Hameed Khan informed them of the difficulties and problems faced by them on various issues.
He said the DUHS tried its best to facilitate its employees in many respects, including health insurance.
