Three militants of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat (TTS) were arrested in a pre-dawn raid by the Baldia police in Saeedabad on Monday.
Baldia Division SP Ijaz Hashmi claimed the raid was conducted on a tip-off by an informant. According to Hashmi, the suspects opened fire as the police neared their hideout and a shootout ensued. The police eventually managed to arrest three suspects identified as Mohammad Zikriya alias Bhaijan, Mohammad Imran alias Bilal alias Humayun alias Amjad, and Younus alias Baba, while their companions escaped. The accused received minor injuries during the shootout.
Three pistols, a repeater rifle and four kilograms of explosives were recovered from the hideout.
