CBC warns beach-goers to be wary of jellyfish

The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has issued a warning to all beach-goers to be cautious of the Blue Bottle jellyfish, which increase in number around this time of the year.
A spokesman for the CBC said on Monday night that people visiting the beach should be careful to the threat of the jellyfish as it had recently caused harm to several picnickers.
He said people while visiting the beach should stay away from sea waves as the conditions amid monsoon season could pose any risk.
He denied media reports emerged on several TV news channels that the CBC had imposed any complete restriction on public to visit the Sea View beach in coming days.
“The cantonment board had only cautioned the beachgoers in view of jellyfish threat. They should remain at a distance from sea in view of a latest cleanliness drive for cleaning the beach”.
