The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested a smuggler and recovered over 18kgs of heroin in separate raids on Tuesday.
ANF personnel interrogated and later arrested a passenger at the Jinnah International Airport, after he was found in possession of at least 80 capsules of heroin; he was to travel from Karachi to Abuja via Dubai.
The personnel claimed to be carrying out raids to apprehend the gang behind the crime.
A spokesman for the ANF informed that personnel conducted an operation at the city port and recovered 18kgs of high quality heroin from a Malaysia-bound container; the contraband was concealed inside pieces of furniture. A case was registered whereas further investigation is under progress.
