The Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College commemorated the World Hypertension Day at its premises on Tuesday by organising a medical camp and a walk to raise awareness for the occasion.
The events were organised by the department of cardiology. The medical camp screened people for their blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar levels, besides giving them a general fitness evaluation.
Speaking on the occasion, the head of cardiology department, Dr Faisal Ahmed, highlighted the efforts of Liaquat National Hospital towards spreading awareness in health.
Cardiologist Dr Hafeez stressed the need of regular check-ups for hypertension, since high blood pressure was a silent killer. Later, a walk was led by Dr Salman Faridi.
