The citizens of Karachi have expressed their confidence in the abilities of the city’s law enforcement agencies and appreciated their efforts and sacrifices in restoring peace in the metropolis.
People belonging to different walks of life, when asked if they were satisfied with Rangers and police’s ongoing operation against criminals in the city, told APP on Sunday that not only did they complete confidence in the law enforcement agencies abilities, but also appreciated their efforts. They said they stood by the law enforcement institutions.
“There has been a decline in target killings, extortion demands and street crimes and this is a great achievement of our law enforcement agencies, said Muhammad Bilal, a builder and real estate owner.
Syed Faisal, an industrialist, said there had been a decline in strikes in the city and this was beneficial for daily wage labourers.
“If peace prevails in Karachi, it will directly benefit the national exchequer,” he added.
Shamim Azam, an academician and an O&A levels teacher, said parents now seemed less scared of sending their children to school and there were uninterrupted academic sessions now.
“Educational activities are now held in a peaceful environment,” he added.
Sumair Zafar, a logistics officer at a multi-national company, said the operation should have been conducted much earlier.
“The residents of Karachi want to live and work in peace.
The operation should continue terrorism is eliminated from our city,” he added.
Sadia Zaidi, a housewife, appreciated the efforts of the law enforcement agencies and said peace was essential for the survival of the common man in Karachi.
“I hope that there is further improvement in the law and order situation in the city,” she added.
The citizens also prayed for the Rangers and police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
