KARACHI: Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has commissioned its Isomerisation Plant, which would double its production of petrol from 11,000 tons to 12,000 tons per month to 23,000 to 24,000 tons.
“Isomerisation Plant, which will convert Naptha into motor gasoline / petrol, has been successfully completed after clearing all mechanical and pre-commissioning tests and now in start-up mode,” Asim Akhund of PRL said in a bourse filing on Monday.
The increased production of petrol from the new plant would start in due course, he added.
In addition to the isomerisation unit, the refinery is also working on a diesel desulphurisation project, as well as a fuel conversion unit.
The step is aimed at increasing production and upgrading plants to produce clean fuel and meet Euro emission standards.
