Cops get standard training at explosive handling school

NOWSHERA: The cops are given international standard training at the Police School of Explosive Handling, an official said on Saturday.
Speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony, Shafqat Malik, Assistant Inspector General and head of the bomb disposal unit, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said that the training provided to the cops at the school was on a par with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
He said that donors had donated equipment worth Rs200 million to the school.
District Nazim Liaqat Khattak was chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the 26th batch. It was the first batch who got training of the post blast investigation training.
Police School of Explosive Handling Principal Deputy Superintendent of Police Waqar Ahmed said that the school provided best training. “Had the cops being sent abroad for this training it would have cost a lot of money,” he added. The chief guest was briefed about the equipment being bought for the school. The district nazim distributed certificates among the cops who successfully completed training.
