PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has arrested the supervisor of the Income Tax Department Abbottabad for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income.
According to a press release, an inquiry was authorised by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ascertain the facts and collect evidence about the moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused, Muhammad Saddique, in his own name and in the name of his dependents.
The inquiry revealed that the accused belonged to a humble family in Abbottabad.
During his service, he allegedly accumulated huge assets beyond known sources of his income, including costly properties in Abbottabad and Islamabad. Further probe into the matter is under way.
After conclusion of the property search, a reference will be filed in Accountability Court against the accused and he will be produced before the Accountability Court for physical remand in NAB custody.
