Summer vacation fee may be banned in Islamabad too

Islamabad: As the Lahore High Court restrains Punjab private schools from collecting the summer vacation fee, the Capital Administration and Development Division too is expected to ask privately-owned educational institutions in Islamabad to follow suit. The court issued the restraining order lately after a lawyer formally complained to it that private schools in the province forced parents to pay fee during the three-month summer vacation though the government had already stopped them from doing so.CADD oversees the capital city’s private schools, which totals over 1,000, through a watchdog, PEIRA.

Two dacoits killed in Sukkur encounter

SUKKUR: Two criminals were killed while one was injured in a police encounter here on Sunday.SP Shaheed Benazirabad Javeed Sonharo Jiskani said that police shot dead notorious dacoits Abdul Ghafoor Rahu and Gulshan Oad in two different encounters and recovered weapons from their custody. He said that both were involved in heinous crimes of Road robberies and other crimes.Separately, in the limits of Khairpur Hub Ali Wasan was injured in police encounter.

Patient hurt in hospital attack
GUJRANWALA: One Bilal entered DHQ Hospital and fired point blank at a patient Arshad Bhullah. Security men, however, caught him and handed him over to Civil Lines police. Police have registered a case and victim Arshad has been referred to a hospital in Lahore in a precarious condition. As a result of an enmity between two groups at Raskot in Dhulley police area, one person was killed and three others were injured. The injured Arshad and his two associates were under treatment at the DHQ Hospital.

Woman, children poisoned to death, allege parents

GUJRANWALA: The reported suicide of housewife Sumera along with her minor son Ahmed and daughter Minahal by consuming poisonous substance at Pak Dhulley village took a new turn on Sunday when the parents of the deceased termed it a murder and alleged that all the three were forced to take poison. They demanded Dhulley police register a murder case against husband Nadeem, his father Yousuf and mother Parveen Bibi. They also staged a protest demonstration at Alipur Chowk by placing the bodies on road. Sources said the police have registered a case against the three accused, though no arrest was made till filing of this report.
Two motorcyclists crushed to death
WAH CANTT: Two motorcyclists were crushed to death by a recklessly driven tractor trolley near Wah Garden area on Sunday.According to police sources, Danial Alam along with his friend Hasnian Akram was going on a motorcycle when their two-wheeler was hit by the speeding tractor trolley. They died on the spot.The police registered a case against the tractor driver and started investigation.

Man commits suicide in Vehari
VEHARI: A man committed suicide over domestic issues near here on Sunday.According to police, Moltan Khan of Mian Pakhi village 75/15-L had differences with his family over domestic issues. On Sunday, he shot himself.

District and sessions judge takes
custody of 619 election bags

NAWABSHAH: On the directives of Supreme Court, District and Sessions Judge Mushataque Ahmed Kalhoro took custody of 619 election bags and investigated for Form 15. The request was submitted by the Judicial Commission in order to investigate alleged rigging in general elections of May 2013. The investigation continued from May 15 to May 29, 2015. Sources told that in constituency NA-213 of PPP candidate Dr Azra Fazal, sister of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Form 15 of 333 polling stations were found in 185 bags while these were missing in from bags of 148 polling stations. In constituency NA-214 of PPP candidate Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Form-15 were found in 209 bags of 316 polling stations but same were missing in 107 bags of the same constituency. It was learnt that in PS-24, 76 bags in PS-25, 48 bags, in PS-26, 56 bags, in PS-27, 64 bags and in PS-28 52 bags were found Form 15 missing.

Three killed in Abbottabad accident

ABBOTTABAD: Three persons were killed and four others were injured when police mobile of Bagnother Police Station fell into a ditch near here on Sunday. A policed mobile was moving to Gul Dhook village after receiving information that polling staff had been forcibly locked up by one group in a polling station. The police squad dashed to the spot with the three locals identified as newly elected councilors Rustam, Shabbir and Ilyas. However, the police mobile went out of control of driver on slippery turn and fell into the ditch. All the three civilians Rustam, Shabbir and Ilyas died on the spot while police staff including driver Sajid were injured and were rushed to DHQs Hospital Abbottabad.

Demo against PML-N Sukkur president

SUKKUR: Activists of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) held a protest demonstration against the newly-appointed PML-N district president at a local press club on Sunday. Addressing on the occasion former district president Dewaan Bolchand, former Taluka president Garhi Yasin Muhammad Siddiuqe Brohi, Shikarpur City President Ali Ahmed Malik and Nisar Ahmed Soomro, Mukhitiar Siddique, Gada Hussain Soomro, Asif Mirani, Riaz Brohi, Abdul Razzaqu Khoso and others protested against newly-appointed district president Dost Muhammad Chandio and chanted slogans against him.

Shujaat to appear before JC tomorrow

LAHORE: PML-Q president and former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain will appear before Judicial Commission along with party’s secretary-general Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and other senior leaders on Tuesday (tomorrow). According to a press release issued Sunday, lawyer and former law minister Dr Khalid Ranjha and advocate Mubeen Qazi are representing the PML-Q before the Judicial Commission.

PTI stands victorious in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won 18 seats of the district council followed by independent candidates with 13 seats. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F won eight seats, Pakistan People’s Party three seats Awami National Party two and Jamaat-i-Islami one seat for the district council.

Youth drowns in canal

SUKKUR: A young boy drowned in a canal while bathing in Tando Muhammad Khan on Sunday. Sanju Kumar, 20 drowned during swimming in a canal. Rescue team recovered the body and handed it over to the heirs.
