ISLAMABAD: Selfies are killing our young. After many reports of youngsters being involved in accidents while taking selfies when they are driving, comes report of a young girl critically injuring herself with a gun while posing for a selfie.
According to a wire report a young Russian woman managed to shoot herself in the head when she tried taking a selfie with a pistol. The 21-year-old woman was posing for a selfie with a 9mm handgun left behind by a security guard at her office in Moscow.
However, instead of shooting herself with the phone, she accidentally managed to press the gun’s trigger, shooting herself in the temple at close range. The incident took place on Thursday. The young girl has been hospitalised and is said to be in a serious condition.
The police, meanwhile, are investigating into how the woman managed to get hold of the gun that had been left behind by a security guard before he went on a two-week holiday. In February, a pilot had caused the small plane that he was flying to crash when he repeatedly took selfies of himself. The two people on board the plane died in the incident.
On Friday, a man reportedly fell off a cliff in Bali (Indonesia) and died when he was posing for a selfie on the edge of the cliff and lost balance.
