LAHORE: Students of Lahore Garrison University commended the sacrifices and resolve of army officers and troops in the ongoing war on terror.
A group of 100 students and faculty members from Lahore Garrison University spent a day out with Pakistan Army at Lahore Garrison. The day-long programme was specifically organised to enlighten students about routine functioning of Pakistan Army, its organisation operational preparedness and defence capability. A programme ‘Know your Army,’ has been exclusively initiated for the youth on instructions of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
The programme started with wreath-laying ceremony and Dua at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, followed by a demonstration by Quick Reaction Force. The students also witnessed arms and equipment display and participated in small arms fire. The programme culminated with flag ceremony at joint checkpoint Wagah. The smart turnout and bearing combined with immaculate drills by troops of Pakistan Rangers amidst charged crowd added to the enthusiasm and feelings of patriotism of students. They evinced keen interest and commended the sacrifices and resolve of army officers and troops in the ongoing war on terror. They applauded the state of morale, commitment and professional competence of Pakistan Army and thanked the Army Chief for providing them a life time experience and opportunity.
Earlier, students from FC College Lahore, Kinnaird College Lahore, Punjab University Lahore, Government College University Lahore and University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore College for Women University and National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Lahore spent a day out with troops.
