BAHAWALPUR: Panic spread among the staff and students of the Government Girls High School, Noorpur Nauranga, when a piece of cloth inscribed with threatening words was found on the school premises.
The Musaffar Khana police registered a report on information of the principal. Reportedly, a student of the school found a piece of cloth that contained a threat of attack on the school on February 4, 5 or 6. The student gave the cloth to Principal Shabnum Mubarak, who immediately informed the police.
The locals and students were panicked when a TV channel also aired the news about the piece of cloth, saying that three coffins carrying a message of terror attack were found.
High police officials rushed to the school and thoroughly investigated the matter but nothing was confirmed about the coffins or any other threatening letters. The principal and SDPO Sadr Bahawalpur Syed Riaz Bukhari took the episode as an act of a naughty student or any staffer.
INJURED PO HELD: Abbasnagar police claimed arresting an injured PO Azhar alias Azhari Dadpotra from Chak 32/BC on Thursday evening after a reported encounter. According the DPO office press release, the police also recovered a snatched motorbike and pistol from the PO. The PO was wanted by Samasatta, Abbasnagar and Khairpur Tamewali police.
