ISLAMABAD: Pursuant to the Supreme Court’s order dated 1st November, 2013 in suo-moto case, six teams have been constituted to visit importers/dealers of arms & ammunition to ascertain the sale of the same within or outside Karachi.

 

In order to complete this exercise expeditiously and meaningfully following methodology shall be adopted:(i) Information already available in the customs computerized record showing imports of arms and ammunition by the importers/dealers and segregation of cases of import relating to Karachi city during the last three years.

 

(ii) Visit the dealers/importers (on the given address) as the respective teams will inspect the record maintained by the respective dealer of arms & ammunition to ascertain about the sale of the same within or outside Karachi. A performa designed for collection of the requisite information is attached as Annex-I.

 

(iii) On completion of this exercise, reports of the same (district-wise) shall be handed over to the Inspector General of Police Sindh and Director General Rangers for further action as directed by the court:

 

Following are the Custom teams constituted under the deputy collectors to carry out the inspection of armed record of the dealers and importers:

Sulatan Naeem Akhtar, Senior Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi

 

Team B: 1. Moeen Afzal Ali, Deputy Collector, MCC Appraisement-East, Karachi-Team Leader. 2. Safdar Zaman, Appraising Officer, MCC Appraisement-East, Karachi. 3. Naeem Khan Afridi, Appraising Officer, MCC Appraisement-East, Karachi. 4. Jamshed Ali Rana, Senior Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi. 5. Shahid Nadeem, Senior Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi

 

Team C: 1. Ms. Sadia Sadaf, Deputy Collector, MCC Appraisement-West, Karachi-Team Leader. 2. Zulfiqar Zaman, Appraising Officer, MCC Appraisement-West, Karachi. 3. Rai Iftikhar, Appraising Officer, MCC Appraisement-West, Karachi. 4. Fakhruddin, Senior Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi. 5. Rashid Mehmood, Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi.

 

Team D: 1. Muhammad Akbar Jan, Deputy Collector, MCC Appraisement-West, Karachi-Team Leader. 2. Babar Gulzar, Appraising Officer, MCC Appraisement-West, Karachi. 3. Muhamamd Ashraf Bhatti, Appraising Officer, MCC Appraisement-West, Karachi. 4. Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Senior Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi. 5. S Nihal Ashrafi, Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi

 

Team E: 1. Wajid Zaman, Deputy Collector, MCC Port Qasim, Karachi-Team Leader. 2. Abdul Waheed Khelji, Appraising Officer, MCC Port Qasim, Karachi. 3. Sarfraz Bangalzai, Appraising Officer, MCC Port Qasim, Karachi. 4. Aftab A Kalhoro, Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi. 5. Sadruddin Khoso, Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi

 

Team F: 1. Adnan Rafiq, Deputy Collector, MCC Preventive, Karachi-Team Leader. 2. Javed Hassan, Principal Appraiser, MCC Port Qasim, Karachi. 3. Tariq Aziz, Appraising Officer, MCC Preventive, Karachi. 4. Qamar Khan, Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi. 5. Sabihuddin, Senior Preventive Officer, MCC- Preventive, Karachi.

 

2. Team A & B shall carry out the exercise under the supervision of Dr Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, ADC-I (MCC Appraisement-East), Team B & C under the supervision of Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, ADC-III (MCC Appraisement-West) and Team E & F under the supervision of Muhammad Yaqoob Mako, ADC-AFU (MCC Preventive). The Additional Collectors shall monitor the performance of their respective teams on daily basis with report to Collector MCC Appraisement (West) under endorsement to the Office of the Chief Collector (South) Appraisement, Custom House, Karachi.

 

3. The above teams shall accomplish the assigned task within seven days.
