GCUF sets up college of physical therapy

FAISALABAD: Government College University Faisalabad has established College of Physical Therapy and College of Allied Discipline offering the courses of BS programme and Associate Programme to cater the increasing demand of medical professionals in the division.


The college set up under the Directorate of Medical Sciences was inaugurated by Faisalabad Division Commissioner Dr Ijaz Muneer. GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zakir Hussain presided over the session. It is first programme of its kind in category of general universities of the country. Directorate Director Dr Riaz Hussain Dab, Science and Technology Dean Dr Naureen Aziz Qureshi, Dr Owais, Dr Asif Saleem, Dr Samiya, Dr Rafia, Kiran Fatima, District Emergency and Rescue Officer Rana Tariq spoke on the occasion. They also distributed certificates among the participants of Third Basic Life Support Programme. The commissioner vowed to ensure state-of-art-medical facilities at the division to address the health issues. Prof Dr Zakir Hussain stressed the medical students to prove their mettle in their field by putting their full efforts and devotion in their studies. He said the university was making all out efforts to ensure the quality education in the campus in order to produce skilled manpower. He urged the students to take steps to serve the humanity by making it their passions. Meanwhile, Government College University Faisalabad has issued the revised schedule for the submission of examination forms of BA/ BSc (composite) Ist Annual 2013 and BA/BSc part 1 and II Annual 2013 for private and affiliated colleges. The last date to apply with single fees is April 3, 2013. The double fee is from April 4 to April 9 and for the triple fee from April 10 to April 12. This schedule is valid only for candidates who have appeared in BA/ BSc 2nd Annual Composite/ Part (I/II) supplementary examinations, 2012.
