Vision unfulfilled

December 27, 2019

Every year we celebrate Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday on December 25. A lot of promises are made by our rulers to preserve our heritage, develop the country and march towards progress. Every year, the above mentioned exercise is repeated with full fervor and excitement – with nothing practical done in the coming months. The Quaid fought a long political battle and here we are now breathing fresh air and free from all the compulsions and conditions faced by our Muslim brethren in India. But alas we have not maintained this beautiful home gifted to us. Half the country we lost due to the selfishness and poor leadership of our rulers, while we fail to do justice to the half that remains. Our economy is a shambles and we have been rated by international think tanks as among the most corrupt nations in the world.

People had high hopes for the PTI government. The promises made during the election campaign; a new education and health policy, 10 million jobs, five million houses are still up in the air. On the other hand, the prices of everyday items have soared, in some cases to four times as much. The patience of the ordinary voter has been tested to the limits and it could rupture at any time. The public still has a lot of faith in IK since he is an honest, courageous, hardworking, dedicated and charismatic leader. Therefore, let’s work to preserve those values for which Pakistan was created, fulfilling the vision of the Quaid, which we talk about a great deal but fail to realize.
