Says people have rejected PTI’s double standards

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate in the NA-122 by-election Ayaz Sadiq has said whatever the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) might do, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would still come out victorious in the by-polls.
“The youth hate politics of sit-ins and people have rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s double standards,” he said according to a private TV channel.
Addressing a rally here on Sunday, Sadiq said the PTI could foresee its poor position in Lahore’s by-election. He said there would be a historic decision of NA-122 by-election on October 11.
The PML-N leader alleged Imran Khan was afraid he would have nothing to whine about if Pakistan’s economy got stronger. “Imran is worried what will happen to him if Chinese investment comes to Pakistan,” he said.
He said if elections were to be won by money, his rival candidate Aleem Khan would never lose. He said the ‘cheaters’ would continue crying even after October 11.
APP adds: Addressing the rally, Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said the PML-N would win the NA-122 by-election as people of the city had evaluated the performance and character of candidates and would vote for a real change, not for hollow slogans.
He said Imran’s politics of roadshows had damaged the country’s economy. He said Imran had alleged that the general elections 2013 were rigged, but the Judicial Commission rejected his allegations.
He said Imran Khan was trying to pressurise the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the ECP had suspended the Prime Minister’s Kissan Package.
He said the PML-N leadership faced jails and cases but stood by the people as the masses loved and supported them. Imran Khan never made any contribution to democracy. He said the PTI chief wanted to derail democracy but people had rejected the politics of protests and sit-ins, adding that they would elect their representative on the basis of performance and character.
He said the government had initiated an operation against target killers, extortionists and criminals in Karachi after consultation with all the political parties to ensure peace in the city. He said the government, with the support of the Pakistan Army, had achieved remarkable successes in the operation against terrorism, adding that the government was also working day and night to eliminate corruption and other social evils. He said Pakistan’s future was bright under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “The government is determined to make further developments in infrastructure as well as health and education sectors,” he said.
He said that the people only voted on the basis of performance, therefore, the PTI should take steps for the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and fulfill its promises of change made during the campaign for general elections.
MNA Marvi Memon, Waqas Akram, Talal Chaudhry and other leaders of the PML-N also spoke on the occasion.
