BAHAWALPUR: Three murder convicts were hanged in the New Central Jail here on Thursday.
Those hanged are Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Boota and Faqir Muhammad. Muhammad Nawaz was awarded death sentence by the Bahawalnagar district and sessions judge in a murder case registered with the Chishtian police in 1995.
Muhammad Boota of Burewala was awarded death sentence by the Bahawalnagar district and sessions judge in a murder case registered with the Haroonabad police in 2003. Faqir Muhammad of Islam Garh was awarded death by a court in a case registered in 2004. The bodies of the three prisoners were handed over to their heirs.
Online adds from Kasur: Maqbool alias Quli was hanged in the Kasur District Jail. He had been convicted for murdering a man after kidnapping him from Lahore. The family members of the deceased refused to forgive him and his mercy appeal was also rejected by the president.
