ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to maintain close liaison with the aprliamentary group leaders of parliament who stood by the government during the agitation of the PTI last year and later.
Well-placed sources in the PM House told The News here on Tuesday that the meeting of the parliamentary group leaders has been called in the PM Parliament House Chamber-222 about mid-day today (Wednesday).
Some federal misters will also be in attendance as the overall political situation will be discussed by the participants. It would be the first such get-together after the findings of the Judicial Commission and the report of the commission would also come for informal discussion, the sources said.
The parliamentary group leaders will also discuss how to improve the working of parliament and formulation of electoral reforms for which the special committee under Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has covered a lot of area. The decision to hold the huddle was taken after consultations between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Dar, Chaudhary Nisar, Senator Pervez Rashid, and Khawaja Saad Rafiq.
The prime minister will offer words of thanks to the parliamentary leaders for their role in the crisis created by the agitation and their determination for the cause of democracy and parliament.
