KARACHI: Senior journalists who had been hired for Axact’s television channel have started lobbying to mount pressure in the ongoing inquiry against Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh in fake degrees scam.
These people have visited FIA offices in Karachi and Islamabad and contacted high officers of the agency and ministers in the federal capital. The FIA authorities have decided not to allow any journalist into the offices where probe was in progress against Axact.
Only close relatives of Shoaib Shaikh and his lawyers would be allowed to visit him. It has been decided that an FIA personnel would remain present during such meetings. Sources said that a senior journalist who is related to Axact spent time at Anti-Human Trafficking Cell.
The same person tried to pressurise FIA in its probe against Axact. Another anchorperson from Islamabad tried to affect the ongoing probe through his meetings with high level officers and different ministers.
