PML-N’s candidate wins PP-196 by-poll in Multan
Shahbaz congratulates winner; PTI accepts results

MULTAN: The PML-N candidate has won the PP-196 by-poll with a big margin by defeating the PTI and the PPP candidates. PML-N candidate Rana Mehmoodul Hassan has secured 28,324 votes, the PTI candidate Rana Abdul Jabbar got 18,112 votes and the PPP’s new face Muhammad Hussain Arain bagged 6,589 votes.
PTI’s Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has accepted the PP-196 by-poll result with an open heart and congratulated the PML-N winning candidate Rana Mehmoodul Hassan here after the declaration of unofficial results on Thursday. He said it is the victory of the democratic process and the PTI had struggled hard to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. He also thanked Multan district administration, commissioner, CPO and regional election commissioner for holding transparent elections.
Lahore Correspondent adds: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated the PML-N candidate Rana Mehmoodul Hassan on his victory in by-elections in PP-196 Multan, and added that the glorious success of the PML-N in by-polls reflects complete confidence of the people in government’s policies.
