ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday lodged a strong protest with India over the killing of a civilian who mistakenly crossed the Indian border.
The Pakistan Foreign Office summoned the first secretary of Indian High Commission and conveyed to him the serious concern over the uncalled-for killing.The first secretary was told that the assassination of unarmed and innocent citizens was quite deplorable.
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down Amanat Ali, 40, in Shakargarh on the Working Boundary on Friday. The Foreign Office condemned the BSF’s act and termed it a violation of the Border Ground Rules.
At the time of killing Amanat Ali, he along with other fellow farmers was busy in his field in village Kothey-Shakargarh located on the Working Boundary, according to the Punjab Rangers.After receiving the body, the bereaved family along with the local residents protested against India. The protesters were carrying banners and placards carrying anti-India slogans.
