Says operation to continue at all costs; attends funeral prayer of Captain Qasim; commends his supreme sacrifice

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Saturday reiterated the resolve to continue the fight till the elimination of the last terrorist from the soil as he maintained that the operation would continue at all costs.
The COAS attended the funeral of Captain Qasim and paid tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice.
The Namaz-e-Janaza of Captain Qasim Zia shaheed, who embraced Shahadat on Friday, was offered with full military honours on Saturday at the Army Graveyard near the Racecourse Ground, Rawalpindi. Captain Qasim was severely injured on April 29 during a major Operation in Tirah, Khyber Agency, and was evacuated to the Combined Minitary Hospital (CMH), Peshawer.
COAS General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zaka Ullah, other military officials and relatives of the Shaheed attended the Namaz-e-Janaza. According to a statement issued by the ISPR, the army chief laid a floral wreath at the grave of Captain Qasim and paid rich tributes to him for his supreme sacrifice.
