MIRPUR: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan on Wednesday said that he had broken the long Zardari-Nawaz partnership.
“I am not going to break the Zardari-Nawaz partnership as I have already done so,” Imran said while addressing a rally here.He said Altaf Hussain’s days are numbered, adding that like every Pharoah, Altaf’s time had come too.
The PTI chief claimed that people attended the MQM’s rallies and listened to Altaf’s speech quietly out of fear for their lives. He pledged that his government would introduce in Azad Kashmir a Switzerland-like local government system after coming to power.
“We will bring in a local government system which is being practised in Switzerland and the Scandinavian countries. We are setting up the same system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he added.
Criticising the PML-N and PPP governments, he said that both the parties had badly politicised the police department, adding that his party would depoliticise the Azad Kashmir Police if it got a chance to form a government in the region.
“We will depoliticise the police as we did in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” the PTI chief said. The Judicial Commission is being constituted to probe the alleged election rigging, he said, adding that it would result in “Go Nawaz Go”.
Imran said that his party would bring prosperity to the people of Mirpur, adding that “we won’t get the rights until we snatch them”.He said that the large number of people showing up for the rally reminds him of Altaf Hussain’s rally in which, he claimed, people are brought by force. He said the people of Mirpur had turned up to attend the rally at their own will.
He urged the participants of the rally not to vote for parties whose leaders had their assets abroad. He reiterated that rulers take turn for power and support each other in corruption.Imran announced that he would hold the next public rally in Karachi.
It was Imran Khan’s first major political event in Kashmir after former AJK prime minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood joined the party. The public meeting was held in connection with the upcoming by-elections on Barrister Sultan’s seat.
The PTI chief appealed to the people to vote for Barrister Sultan in the by-elections on March 29.“You cannot disappoint us on the 29th; I will congratulate Barrister Saheb right now...we will not let rigging happen.
“Promise me today. The AJK and all of Pakistan watching TV today that you will not vote for people whose money and assets are kept abroad,” the PTI chief said.He claimed that 2015 will be the year of elections and he will prove that Nawaz Sharif was sitting in government through a stolen mandate. “It is your power that has made it possible to force the government to form a judicial commission to probe the vote fraud.”
Imran announced that the local bodies elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be unprecedented and MNAs and MPAs will not get development funds but local bodies representatives will receive them.
He condemned the police action against farmers and their detention in Lahore. “I promise our farmers community that I will stand with you and for your rights.” He lashed out at the government for taking action against a senior police officer in Islamabad and said the PTI government will reinstate him and will award him for not obeying wrong orders.
“The police will never be used unfairly against our people. SSP Nekokar who refused to obey the wrong orders is being dismissed by the Nawaz government,” Imran said. He said he will introduce a change in the police system.
