QUETTA: Corps Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasir Khan Janjua has urged the estranged Baloch youth to avoid taking up arms and adopt the path of peace. He added that the Baloch are already independent and asked which independence they were fighting for.
Addressing a gathering on the inauguration of the Balochistan Sports Festival at told Baloch youth that Pakistan is yours, so don’t fight for your own property because there is nothing in this fight except miseries for mothers and fathers.
Lt-Gen Janjua said we should say goodbye to a fight that has taken birth from sectarianism, and the menace of terrorism would be rooted out from Balochistan and the country.He said the days and nights in Balochistan have become peaceful as political leadership has shown unity and Balochistan is the future of Pakistan. “I appreciate the nation’s sons who have thrown away the arms and decided to play their role for the country and would not play game of bloodshed in motherland,” he added.
Chief Guest of ceremony Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai addressing the ceremony said that the bright future of Pakistan is linked with Balochistan and we want peaceful ties and trade with neighbouring countries.
Achakzai terming the event as starting point for celebrations of Pakistan Day said that Baloch are people of an independent and sovereign country who participated in freedom struggle of Pakistan.
The governor greeting the Nau Roz celebrations to the neighbouring countries and people of Balochistan said unfortunately the nation has observed clouds of terrorisms for decades but now these clouds have dissolved, letting the sky clear, and progress of the province has been started.
The president and prime minister have visited twice to start the progress work in the province and the people of the province are standing along with the Pakistan Army, the governor said, appreciating the corps commander for arrangements of the sports festival ceremony. —- Sabah
