KARACHI: A young man was killed while nine others were injured in an explosion that took place on Monday night in Malir city.
An unidentified man in his twenties was killed while nine others were injured in the Malir City police remit. The incident took place on Monday night at the Jawed alias Chuto’s pen situated in Dawood Goth, Malir.
Station House Officer (SHO) Faisal Khan of Malir City Police Station said that responding to information police rushed to the spot and moved the injured to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) where one of the blast victims expired.
During investigation, it was found that armed men riding a motorcycle had lobbed an RGD-1 grenade at the pen of Jawed situated at the above place due to which casualty and injuries occurred.
He added that six months before there was a gambling den but after police operation the gamblers left the place and later Jawed alias Chotu formed a cattle pen at the place, and he had been running the pen there. Initial investigation reveals that the criminals belonged to the Akber Maleri gang which worked for notorious gangster Uzair Baloch.
SHO Khan said that due to explosion one person was killed who is still unidentified while the injured were identified as Abdul Ghaffer, Yameen, Irfan Mansoor, Abdul Aziz, Waqas Naveed, Mohammed Ashraf, Bashir, while two injured were still unidentified. A case was reported and investigations are under way.
