Customs seizes smuggled goods

Personnel of the Pakistan Customs have seized smuggled goods worth millions of rupees in a raid, a spokesman said.
Spokesman Qamar Thalho said that during a reinforced anti-smuggling drive and acting on credible information, staff of the Customs Model Custom Collectorate Preventive, Karachi, raided a godown in Jodia Bazaar late on Tuesday night and confiscated a huge quantity of made in India cutch/Kattah.
The seized items, which were in 1,500 slabs weighing assorted 50 kilograms and 25 kilograms wrapped in gunny bags, were taken to SWH-III Keamari in two containers. The spokesman added that the total quantity was about worth Rs40 million. An FIR has been registered.
