349 arrested over violation of lockdown
FAISALABAD: The police have arrested 349 persons on the charge of violation of lockdown from different parts of the city. The police registered 299 cases against the accused on the charge of violating Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and lockdown. The police also arrested 349 accused, including 23 persons, on the charge of arranging public gatherings for marriage and other ceremonies, two shopkeepers for profiteering, 23 persons for pillion riding and 301 for other violations. The police arrested the accused and further action against them was under progress.
Police officials promoted: The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) in its meeting promoted 87 police officials in next grades here on Friday. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Raja Riffat Mukhtar chaired the meeting in which the Faisalabad city police officer (CPO) and district police officers (DPOs) of Jhang, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh participated. The committee promoted 67 constables to the rank of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and 20 ASIs to the rank of sub-inspector. The RPO congratulated the promoted officials and directed them to perform their duties more honestly.
