A double bench of the BHC, comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal, heard the case. Former Chief Minister Jam Yousuf appeared before the court.Muhammad Ilyas, counsel for the former chief minister, informed the court that the military operation had been launched against Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti at the behest of then Chief Executive Pervez Musharraf.

The court asked that if it was an illegal operation, why did Jam Yousuf, as chief executive of the province, not protest against it. The court also asked why the former chief minister did not appear before the court since 2009. The counsel for Jam Yousuf informed the court that a defunct organisation had threatened to kill his client.

Justice Mandokhel questioned how it was possible that the chief executive of the province, Jam Yousuf, was unaware of the operation in the province, and was not taken into confidence about it. The lawyer said the operation was launched at the behest of Pervez Musharraf.

The counsel moved the application, seeking bail for Jam Yousuf, who is facing murder charges for killing Nawab Akbar Bugti, also a former governor and chief minister of Balochistan. The bench granted three week interim bail to Jam Muhammad Yousuf against the bonds of Rs02 million. Jam Yousuf had previously been granted protective bail by the Sindh High Court.

Jamil Bugti, son of late Nawab Akbar Bugti, filed an FIR nominating former president Pervez Musharraf and other former key federal and provincial officials for their alleged involvement in the murder of Nawab Bugti.
