Rescue 1122

The publicly advertised Rescue 1122 service it seems is nonexistent in the federal capital. Dialling 1122 from a landline number gets you to Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi while dialling from a mobile number gets you to the rescue service in Murree. Both these cities do not cover Islamabad. In this situation trying to contact 1122 in Islamabad is a dead end, the consequences of which can well be imagined if one is trying to summon an ambulance in an emergency.
After the recent breakdown of rescue services in Karachi, it seems Islamabad is next. The authorities concerned should ensure that the residents of Islamabad can connect with Rescue 1122 from their land line telephones as well as cell phones.
