The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government’s claim regarding reforms in the police department and health sector are no doubt true. But it seems its efforts have failed to make a dent in the deep-rooted patwari culture.
The land mafia has illegally occupied a piece of land reserved for a graveyard in Katlang Mardan. Now it has started building markets on it. Civil society organisations have staged numerous protests but all in vain because the land mafia supports its claims with ‘forged’ allotment papers issued to it by a local patwari (village accountant). The CM is requested to address the issue.
