Recently, a discussion on human rights violations in Balochistan was cancelled at the insistence of the state. Such onslaught on our academia cannot be allowed. Through this not only was the independence of the academia and our academic institutions challenged but such acts also add to the pent-up frustration of students from Balochistan.
Such premeditated attempts at covering up the Balochistan issue are not going to diffuse the situation in the province. Our academia should reclaim the space it has lost.
