The International Childhood Cancer Day was observed on February 15. According to the statistics available, around 30 percent cases of cancer in children were reported from Sindh.
It is good that this day was observed as it created awareness among people about the fatality of this disease and how they can protect their children from it. Blood cancer is the most common among children across Pakistan. It is time the authorities concerned resolved the matter of acute shortage of cancer care centres and trained medical staff to cater to the needs of patients.
